You may submit up to two pieces in total (for example- one poem and one image)

For Issue 1

Launching on: 28^th February 2018

The Theme for issue one is ‘Firsts’… interpret this as you may! Take it literally or turn it on its head. Just send us your best work.

The deadline for submissions is midnight on 31^st January 2018.

Poetry Submissions:

Please email your submissions to thebangorliteraryjournal@hotmail.com with the heading (SUBMISSIONS-Name-POETRY)
Submit a maximum of two previously unpublished poems (We consider it published if it has appeared on: social media, online or in print)
no longer than 40 lines long.
Poems should be single spaced and in New Times Roman, size 12.
Poems should be in a separate Word document attached to the email. There should not be any traces of your name within the document, as work is read anonymously.
Include a brief note, author’s bio (no more than one paragraph), contact details and an author photo in the body of the email.
We accept all forms of poetry, but it must be your best work.
If your work is accepted, we will email you within one month of the deadline. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, then please contact us.
If your work is not chosen, please feel free to submit again when we put out the next call.
Overtly sexual, violent or hate filled poetry will never be published.
Work cannot be changed once it has been sent to us.
We do not accept simultaneous submissions.
You retain the rights to your work, however we can use your work in upcoming features etc. Please credit us in future with first publication of the piece.

Flash Fiction Submissions:

Please email your submissions to thebangorliteraryjournal@hotmail.com with the heading (SUBMISSIONS-Name-FLASH FICTION)
Submit a maximum of two previously unpublished pieces of flash fiction (We consider it published if it has appeared on: social media, online or in print)
no longer than 200 words long.
Work should be single spaced and in New Times Roman, size 12.
Pieces should be in one sperate Word document attached to the email. There should not be any traces of your name within the document, as work is read anonymously.
Include a brief note, author’s bio (no more than one paragraph), contact details and an author photo in the body of the email
It must be your best work.
If your work is accepted, we will email you within one month of the deadline. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, then please contact us.

Submit a maximum of two previously unpublished images (however, they can have appeared on social media).
Images should be high resolution and attached to the email as JPEG files-with the title, medium and a couple of lines about the work in the body of the email.
Include a brief note, artist’s bio (no more than one paragraph), contact details and an artist photo in the body of the email.
If your work is accepted, we will email you within one month of the deadline. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, then please contact us.
If your work is not chosen, please feel free to submit again when we put out the next call.
