You are invited to take part in our Winter Ekphrastic Challenge.

Respond to the photograph above taken by our very own Paul Daniel Rafferty.

You can write a poem (no longer than 20 lines) or a prose piece (no longer than 200 words) in response to the image. Please spend no longer than 2 hours writing your piece and no longer than 1 hour editing it.

Once you are happy with your piece of writing, please send it to thebangorliteraryjournal@hotmail.com

by midnight Friday 6th December. Just copy and paste your piece into the body of the email. Include your writer’s name and a 50 word third person biography.

The 5 winners of the challenge will have their ekphrastic response included in a special feature (issue 21). All those who have submitted will be notified with our decision by midnight Tuesday 10th December. The 5 selected writers will be invited to read their piece at the launch event on Saturday 14th December at The Blackberry Path Studio, Bangor. 5 other responses will be shortlisted but not published.
