We are delighted to let you know that the longlist and shortlist for this year’s Bangor Poetry Competition will be revealed on Saturday 5th December on The Bangor Literary Journal Website.

The 15 shortlisted poems on the theme of ‘connections’ will be displayed in our online poetry gallery. You, the general public will then have the opportunity to vote for your favourite poem (and your second and third favourite).

Online voting will take place between Saturday 5th December and midnight Saturday 12th December. Strictly one vote per person.

Each shortlisted poet will be asked to record their piece and these readings will be used as part of the awards ceremony at 8pm on Sunday 20th December on our YouTube channel. Subscribe here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-PYLoI03iGKBSsSRF3uudA/

All shortlisted and winning poems will be available to read it issue 13 of The Bangor Literary journal, which you can download for free from midnight on 20th December.

In addition, we are delighted that renowned poet Trish Bennett will feature in issue 13, alongside our wonderful contributors of art, photography, flash fiction and poetry. Issue 13 contributors will be sharing videos of their pieces being read all over social media, all day on 20th December, as part of the launch.
