The deadline for this year’s Bangor Poetry Competition has been extended to midnight 14th September. Within a couple of days of the deadline, a shortlist of 15 poems will be selected and displayed in our online gallery to be voted on by the public.
The fifteen shortlisted poets will also be invited to read their pieces, if they so wish, at 3pm on Sunday 26th September in The Chamber Room in Bangor Castle as part of the prestigious Aspects Literary Festival. The winner of the competition will also be announced at this event.
This year’s theme is ‘FREEDOM’ and your pieces can be loosely or tightly linked to this theme- think outside the box! All types of poetry are welcome–from traditional, to free-verse, to concrete, to prose poetry.
All details and rules can be found here, alongside PayPal links and a list of this year’s prizes.
We cannot wait to read your work.
